Happy 2017 everyone!
Happy 2017 everyone! “The Ordinary Spaceman” is hoping this will be one of your best years ever. Much has been happening in my world since my last webpage update. Read more below!
My first book, “The Ordinary Spaceman,” continues to surpass all expectations. Published by the University of Nebraska Press (Lincoln, Nebraska), we are approaching 10,000 copies sold! Not bad for a small publishing entity, a first-time author, and a promotional/publication budget of nearly zero dollars! Awarded the best creative non-fiction title for all of Nebraska for 2016, we are now headed to the far east, as the book will hit the shelves in Chinese in April 2017. Still haven’t read it? Check on the tab on my page to purchase a copy! If you’re still on the fence, you can find wonderful reviews on Amazon.com and Goodreads.com. Check it out… I dare you! ;0)
Topping that off, I will no longer be the author of a single title. I am partnering again with the UN Press for my second book, tentatively titled “Space Between My Ears: An Astronaut’s Extraordinary Answers to Sometimes Ordinary Questions.” A question and answer book –based on my answers posted on the social media website Quora.com—it will provide you with my responses to questions posed from readers from around the world. In addition, the great folks at Sleeping Bear Press have agreed to publish my very first children’s book! With a working title of “A is for Astronaut: A Space Age Alphabet,” I am incredibly excited to work with an illustrator for the first time, to bring the world of space to youngsters throughout the galaxy!
Finally, it is 2017 and the 150th anniversary of statehood for my home state of Nebraska. Having entered our union on March 1, 1867, this will be a big year of activity in every one of her 93 counties. Look for exciting happenings by following me on Facebook and Twitter, and by checking out this website.
May this year be filled with wonder for you, your friends, and your family. Keep lookin’ up!
